Matthew Mors has worked extensively in the tech security and financial services arenas, helping to establish top agency practices in these areas. Matthew’s programs have received multiple PR Week Award and Silver Anvil finalist awards.
Through his work, Matthew’s clients have increased their visibility in trade, business and financial media, and Matthew has directly facilitated clients’ inaugural media coverage in significant publications and outlets such as the Economist, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, 60 Minutes and the BBC.
Examples of Matthew’s clients include: the financial services team of Cisco Internet Business Solutions Group (IBSG), the global strategic consulting arm of Cisco; Websense, a leading security vendor protecting more than 42 million employees from external and internal computer security threats; Corillian (now FiServe), a top provider of online banking, bill payment, security and anti-fraud solutions to the financial services industry; SC Magazine, the preeminent security publication in the world, and the PCI Security Standards Council, a consortium formed by the five largest credit card payment brands (American Express, Discover Financial Services, JCB, MasterCard Worldwide and Visa International) to evolve a data security standard to better protect the payment process.
Prior to founding MIX Public Relations, Mathew helped found Text 100’s successful financial services and security sector practice areas. In addition to these practice areas, Matthew is known as a crisis communication specialist, particularly around the areas of data security and breaches. Because of his reputation in this field, he was personally telephoned by PR Week to handle crisis communications for a data breach that this organization suffered. His commentary on this and other PR subject matter has been featured in the Wall Street Journal and other publications.
Matthew has also acted as an advisor for the Department of Journalism at Western Washington University and has been a guest lecturer on public relations issues for the University of Washington Foster School of Business and the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
